Biblical Theology In The Life Of The Church: A Guide For Ministry (9 Marks)Biblical Theology In The Life Of The Church: A Guide For Ministry by Michael Lawrence

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Here is my high level response.

Michael Lawrence has hit it out of the park with this one. I would recommend this book to everyone who has any teaching responsibility in the church in order to produce sound exegesis and interpretation of the text of Holy Scripture.

The first few chapters Lawrence does an exquisite job of introducing readers to Grammatical, Historical, Canonical hermeneutics (interpretation). I can see solidly his influences from respected professors such as Dr. Stephen Wellum, who happened to be my hermeneutics professor.

The last few chapters he shows some examples of Biblical theology. Biblical theology, he argues, is sound interpretation that is faithful to the text and its interpretation is the outflowing of the original intent of the text, not our imposition on the text.

I would gladly recommend this to any small group leader, Sunday School teacher, Bible student, Pastor or anyone who has a desire to undesrstand the true meaning of the text.

Thank you 9Marks for the faithful products that continue to come from your ministry!
